Workplace Mediation
Workplace mediation can be used to resolve a wide range of workplace disputes, including disputes between employers and employees, between co-workers, and between managers and staff.
Do you want to improve relationships in the work place? Is there the potential for a grievances that's brewing? Do you want to reduce the cost of conflict or work related stress absences?
Work base mediation is where both parties want to maintain the relationship and are still in that place of employment and not in tribunal process (see civil & commercial mediation section for Employment mediation). It provides an opportunity for the parties to discuss their difficulties in a confidential, structured, and impartial manner. The mediator facilitates communication between the disputing parties to help them come to an agreement or to identify a solution that is mutually beneficial. The mediator does not impose a decision on the parties or give legal advice but rather helps the parties explore options and come to their own conclusion. It is a voluntary process, and all parties must agree to participate. The mediator’s role is to help the parties identify their interests, explore options for resolution, and assist in finding a solution. Work base mediation can help to improve relationships, increase productivity and morale, and reduce the costs of being taken to employment tribunal. It can also help to ensure that future disputes are handled more effectively and in a timely manner.
